How to add Polygon to your Metamask Wallet
🚀 Tip Me 🥰
Polygon was likely one of the most extensively discussed layer-2 scaling ideas for Ethereum in 2021, because to its extraordinarily fast transaction speed at significantly cheaper costs. Users may now access their favorite Ethereum dApps without having to pay the excessive gas prices that they would otherwise have to pay on the Ethereum mainnet thanks to the network.
This step-by-step guide will assist you in connecting your MetaMask wallet to the Polygon network. Let’s get started.
Step 1: Download and install MetaMask Wallet.
If you haven’t already, install the MetaMask wallet extension for your web browser. You can get the wallet on www.metamask.io. After you’ve downloaded and installed the extension, you can quickly configure it by going to your extensions.
To access your extensions on Chrome, simply type chrome://extensions/. Or click the extension button.
Alternatively, you may get to them by going to the “Settings” tab.
Step 2: Include a Polygon Network in your MetaMask.
After you’ve created your MetaMask wallet, all you need to do is add the Polygon network to it so you can access it. To do so, open the MetaMask wallet’s side panel and select “Expand view” from the three dots on the top-right.
After doing that, your wallet will open up on a new browser tab like this.
Then simply head over to the network dropdown next to the circular logo and select “Add Network”.
You will be sent to a new screen where you can add a custom network.
You can also get to this screen by clicking on the circular logo, then selecting “Settings,” and then selecting “Networks” in the left pane.
Fill in the blanks with your information.
Enter the following into the Matic Mainnet settings:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com or
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network or
https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com or
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.quiknode.pro
ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
Once you’ve entered all of the required information, click “Save,” and the network will be added to your wallet.
Once the Matic network has been added, you will be redirected to this screen.
